Eight American Doctors Who Unexpectedly Died in October 💉

In October, those who work in high-risk settings were advised by the CDC to get their booster shots as soon as possible. These are individuals who had already had two doses earlier in the year.

Dr. Stephanie Allison Bosch, 32, passed away on October 13. Born in Bakersfield, California, she graduated from Schreiner University in 2011 and attended Samaritan Regional Medical Center as a resident. At the time of her death, she was employed at the Samaritan Clinic in Waldport, Oregon.

Her family says she died of a pulmonary embolism.

Dr. Elliot Bruce Gagnon
Dr. Elliott Bruce Gagnon, 48, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of October 14, in Palmer, Alaska.

He was the owner and sole practitioner of Gagnon Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Robert Richey
Dr. Robert McIntire Richey, 64, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away on October 15, at Prisma Health Hillcrest Hospital.

Dr. Daniel McBride
Dr. Daniel Gene McBride, 59, unexpectedly passed away on October 20. He died of a heart attack soon after returning home from a 16-mile bike ride.

He practiced as an orthopedic surgeon at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in West Hatfield, Massachusetts.

Dr. Janak R. Patel
Dr. Janak R. Patel, 56, passed away on October 28. He was working in the emergency room of Selby General Hospital in Marietta, Ohio, when he suddenly expired.

Dr. Kevin Walsh
Dr. William Kevin Walsh, 51, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on October 29.

He was an OB/GYN who had delivered more than 3,000 babies. (Facebook page)

Dr. Craig Shannon
Dr. Craig Shannon, 42, passed away on October 29.

He worked as a neurosurgeon in Poughkeepsie, New York, while suffering from Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. His father had also been a neurosurgeon and his mother was a registered nurse.

Dr. James Dargin Dr. James Matthew Dargin, 43, of Nashua, New Hampshire, died unexpectedly at his home on October 31

He received his Doctorate in Medicine from Boston University. He also completed his residency at BU, in Emergency Medicine, at Boston Medical Center, while living in South Boston. Thereafter, he completed a fellowship in Critical Care at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center before returning to New England to practice. A specialist in Pulmonary and Critical Care, he served as a physician at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA.

There are now booster recommendations for all three available COVID-19 shots in the United States.
